Three Days in Miami from Brickell: City, Beach and Neighborhoods
A three-day Miami itinerary from Brickell that groups outings sensibly and leaves time for South Beach, culture and relaxed meals.

Use Brickell as a city base and give each full day one geographic focus. Miami rewards this approach: a beach morning, a museum afternoon and dinner can all be enjoyable, but repeatedly crossing the city makes a short stay feel busier than it needs to be.
Three days, three geographic focuses
Day 1: choose Frost Science or PAMM at Museum Park, using the Metromover where its route works. Day 2: dedicate your outing to South Beach and consider Joe’s Take Away for a casual meal. Day 3: make Little Havana and a meal at Versailles your focus. This keeps the major neighborhood transfers on separate days.
Art-first travelers can replace Frost with PAMM; families who want science should do the opposite. Do not make both museums compulsory. If beach weather is poor, swap the days while respecting museum opening calendars.
Specific places to book or visit
Choose the stops that fit your day; this is a shortlist, not a checklist to complete. Links lead to the operators for current menus, tickets and reservations.
Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science ↗
1101 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami
An aquarium and science-focused outing at Museum Park. Review ticket inclusions and planetarium arrangements; allow this to be the main activity rather than the first of several museums.
Pérez Art Museum Miami ↗
Museum Park, Miami
Choose PAMM for modern and contemporary art. It pairs geographically with the waterfront, but visiting neighboring Frost too is optional, not a requirement. Check the museum calendar before booking.
Joe’s Take Away ↗
11 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach
A more casual alternative to Joe’s main dining room for a South Beach day. Look at the current take-away menu and seasonal availability rather than assuming every seafood item is always offered.
Versailles Restaurant ↗
Calle Ocho, Miami
A Cuban restaurant to make the meal the anchor of a Little Havana outing. It is a separate journey from Brickell or Miami Beach; do not squeeze it between appointments on opposite sides of the bay.
Day one: settle into Brickell and Downtown
Start close to your accommodation. Find a convenient breakfast or grocery stop and explore at a pace that suits the weather. The free Metromover serves Brickell, Downtown and the Omni area; check current service before using it. It can be part of a local outing, but it does not replace the separate journey to Miami Beach.
Day two: make Miami Beach the main outing
Go to the beach with the supplies you need and plan lunch in the same area. If architecture interests you, add a walk around South Beach rather than another mainland neighborhood. Keep sun exposure and the return journey in mind when choosing dinner. A full beach day does not need a second major activity to feel complete.
Day three: choose your neighborhood interest
Choose an art-led outing, a food-focused neighborhood visit or time around Coconut Grove. Pick one rather than trying to cover every area in an afternoon. Look at the opening times of the specific places you want to visit and build the route around one anchor. Leave a generous gap before a flight or cruise departure.
Make the plan fit your group
For families, put the longest outdoor stretch earlier and keep a convenient indoor break. For a couple, reserve the one dinner you most want, then keep the other meals flexible. A rental car may help with wider excursions, but parking costs and logistics matter. Compare a realistic day’s transport options rather than renting automatically.
